COUNSELING FEES
Weekdays:
– Individual sessions are 45 minutes long at a rate of $185 per session.
– Couples sessions: Intakes/Assessment are 90 minutes long at a rate of $360 and regular sessions of 60 minutes at a rate of $250 per session. The structure of assessment is: first session the couples together for 90 minutes. Second session is 45 minutes long, individually for each partner. Third session is the couples together for 90 minutes. After the third session, meetings are scheduled for 60 minutes, both couples together.
– Case-consultation/Client-consultation and/or Supervision sessions are 50 minutes long at a rate of $175 per session.
– Group Sessions are 75 minutes long at a rate of $60 per session.
Weekends:
– Individual sessions are 45 minutes long at a rate of $230 per session.
– Couples sessions are 60 minutes long at a rate of $350 per session.
– Group Sessions are 75 minutes long at a rate of $100 per session.

Insurance
Using Insurance for Services:
Some people prefer not to use their insurance for therapy for a variety of reasons. If you prefer to use your insurance, I am an Out of Network provider with insurance companies which means that I do not bill insurance companies directly. Your counseling services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, medical spending or health care savings accounts. I am happy to provide the necessary documentation needed (known as a superbill) for reimbursement. Health insurance plans and out-of-network benefits vary. Tesfa-House, however, does not bear responsibility for the success or otherwise of such insurance claims. To ensure efficiency of services, please contact your health insurance directly for concrete information regarding your out-of-network benefits.
Please be aware that some insurance options do not cover telephone or video sessions. Contact your insurance for more information if you are interested in these forms of counseling.
Reason for Out-of-Network
I prefer to not work with insurance companies because I strive to provide the most effective and comprehensive client care possible. I have found that the session limits, confidentiality issues, and pathology “labels” associated with taking insurance can pose more of a hindrance to good client care than it does a benefit. While session frequency and the number of sessions should be a collaborative decision between the client and the therapist, insurance companies frequently impose a session limit or require a specific treatment. This can undercut the effectiveness of the overall therapy process as well as remove the freedom of choice and control a client has over his or her mental health care.
In addition, insurance companies require a diagnosis code, and many times, a treatment plan for each client. This can result in what feels like an invasion of privacy as well as a feeling of being “labeled” or “pathologized.” Because my goal is to work in a holistic and non-stigmatizing manner, the requirements of insurance can pose a conflict of interest.
PAYMENT
I accept cash, check, Cash app, Venmo, Zelle as well as Wiring. Please note that payment is due at the beginning or end of each session. To ensure efficiency of services, patients are requested to provide payment details when booking their first appointment.
Cancellation Policy
If you miss your scheduled session, and you have not notified me at least 48 hours in advance, you will be required to pay the full cost of the scheduled session. Appointments cancelled within 48 hours notice must be paid for in full, and the provided financial information info will be used for that purpose only. However, clients may use other payment options if they attend their scheduled sessions.
Please note that charges for Late Cancellation/No shows/Late Rescheduling are not reimbursable by insurance for In-network or Out-of-Network benefits. Thus, your charges will not reflect on your superbill, however, will be included in your statement or invoice.
To confirm your appointment, you will need to provide credit card information to pay for your first session. If you are concerned about transmitting your information electronically, please feel free to contact me via phone to communicate this information directly.
Once I have received your confirmation financial info, I will provide the new client documentation to be completed and brought to your first session. I use Simplepractice Client Portal for any client related documentations.
