Everyone struggles with mental health in some way, whether they personally struggle or know someone who does. The National Institute of Mental Health reports that 1 in 5 Americans struggle with mental health issues in any given year. Increasing awareness, maximizing knowledge and coping skills are great tools to challenge stigma and discrimination and instill healthy coping behaviors. With many years of research, clinical work and community outreach experience, Dr. Tekie is highly experienced and skilled in speaking to small and large groups, delivering complex ideas and sensitive topics effectively to a wide range of audience.
